Amazon will charge sales tax on orders sent to Pennsylvania on Apr.1st
Recently, Amazon informed the seller of a new U.S. taxation policy. Starting April 1, Amazon will calculate and levy sales tax on orders sent to Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania is the second Amazon region to start collecting taxes after Washington State. In 2017, Pennsylvania passed a law that requires internet retailers to impose sales taxes on orders made in the state (sellers across the country). Before, sales tax was only paid when the seller was in Pennsylvania.
Amazon said the seller does not need to take any action, the platform will collect taxes on behalf of the seller, and then submitted to the state government automatically . It is estimated that Amazon will start taxing in more U.S.states in the future.
