Chinese Sellers Occupy a Large Part of Amazon Market
According to statistics, Amazon European stations (Spain, Italy, France, UK and Germany) have an average of nearly 31% active Chinese sellers. Amazon Spain station has the highest proportion of Chinese sellers, up 37%, followed by the Amazon Italy station, with 33% of Chinese sellers, third place is the French station with 32%. It is worth noting that among the top 10,000 Amazon sellers in Europe, the average Chinese seller account for 34%. In Spain, the percentage is even higher, reaching 44%, followed are 39% in Italy and 37% in France.
According to the EU law, European retailers must disclose the place where they do business, and the same law applies to sellers that sell on the Amazon European site. Although this law does not apply to Amazon USA Stations, it is clear that the proportion of Chinese sellers at Amazon USA Stations is at least as high as 31% of the European Stations, or even higher. because the U.S. Stations has the highest sales and profit among all Amazon sites. In one study, Payoneer interviewed 900 Chinese sellers, of whom 62% said they sold on the Amazon platform and 91% of them sold on Amazon U.S. stations, which means that the share of Chinese sellers at Us site may be higher than the number of 31% in European.
And it is reported that 47% of Amazon's sellers use FBA delivery services, while Chinese sellers use more than 71% of FBA services. Only 54% of sellers at Amazon Italy use FBA, while Chinese sellers use the service far higher than the total, reaching 77%.
Earlier data show that so far, of the Amazon's 1 million new sellers, more than 250,000 sellers are from China sellers in 2017,. Of the 80,000 new sellers in the UK, 26% came from China, and in Italy, Germany and France, the proportion is nearly 27% .The highest proportion is in Spain, at nearly 30%.
